What we like about the Weber Q2200, given its price tag, is its sturdiness and durability. The materials used to create this grill are all high-quality. These include a tall cast aluminum lid, a heat-resistant glass-reinforced nylon frame for the body, and stainless steel for the burner.
Additionally, this grill provides even cooking all throughout thanks to its porcelain-enameled, cast-iron cooking grates. What we especially like about this portable grill is that it has a split grid, which gives it more flexibility than its competition. The split grid allows you to have a grate on one side, and a griddle on the other.

One of the perks of the Petit Gourmet is that it gives you great temperature control. During our testing period, we noticed that this portable gas grill performs extremely well, even in high winds. Whether you’ve fully extended the legs or set them down low, the flame is not affected by the wind, because the stainless steel burner is set down and large enough to protect the flame.
What we didn’t like about the Cuisinart Petit Gourmet Gas Grill however is that, with continuous use, the lid latch becomes difficult to open and close. Plus, due to the smoke, it started to darken and was difficult to clean. Also, the legs are quite unstable, especially on an unlevel surface.

Also, you’ll find an infinite control burner valve, which makes it easy to adjust the heat from the high setting, to medium, or low. It has a built-in temperature gauge as well, so you can monitor how hot you want the griller to be.
It’s worth mentioning though that once the lid is open, the grill cools down quickly, so you would have to do your flipping in a hurry to maintain the same heat. However, the grease trap is easy to insert and remove, and the regular is fitted nicely.
We also love the fact that the frame of this grill is made with glass-reinforced nylon, and the body is made of cast-aluminum lid, making it sturdy, flexible, and anti-rust. The side tables for this grill are made of plastic, making them flexible enough to fold them when you want to carry them. Although, it’s important to make sure that it has cooled down first, so that it won’t melt.
As for the actual grill, it’s made with porcelain-enameled cast-iron, which makes it non-stick and easy to clean with a sponge. Also, we’re happy to say that you can put it in the dishwasher once you get back home.
Lastly, the grill and lid make it wind resistant, so you don’t have to worry about flames setting off. The only thing that’s not wind resistant on this grill is the disposable aluminum grease trap. You can choose not to attach this to the grill; just make sure to put something heavy, like a rock, on top of it to ensure that it doesn’t fly away.
What we didn’t like about the Weber Q1200 Liquid Propane Grill is that it’s one of the heaviest grills in this category, since most of its direct competition only weighs around 21lbs or less.

What we like about the RoadTrip X-Cursion is that it’s a complete upgrade of their previous LXE. Unlike the previous model, the X-Cursion has a single elongated burner, which allows you to change from grill to griddle. After testing this new feature, we’re happy to say that it still brings out even heat all throughout the burner.
Don’t be deceived though, you can adjust the heat in the two burners separately. With 20,000 BTUs, you won’t have any problem cooking your food for a long period of time. Plus, it doesn’t require you to move your food around as much, since it provides even cooking.
Contrary to the LXE, the X-Cursion only has one table on the side, which means that you would have to look for another place to place your beer, for example. Another great thing about this portable grill however is that it has an Instastart Push-Button Ignition, so you don’t have to bring any match or lighter with you.
Also, this is one of the most portable gas grills in this category thanks to its fold-up wheeled legs, which you can be moved and placed on any surface.
Finally, when it comes to cleaning, you’ll surely love the non-stick grill, and the DripTrap feature that catches all the grease.
The only thing that we didn’t like about the Coleman RoadTrip X-Cursion Propane Grill is that the side table can be a little flimsy. We’re not sure if it can handle the folding and opening throughout its use. Plus, we read some complaints on the internet about some users having actually experienced the breaking of this side table.

The entire grill can be disassembled, meaning that you have to allocate some of your time arranging it before actually cooking. With the help of the manual and the included tools, we were personally able to assemble everything in under 30 minutes. We suggest that you try to assemble the grill before actually going on your trip, to ensure that you won’t mess up and get hungry.
Everything about this grill is functional, and you won’t see any advanced feature that may increase its price. Since the targeted buyers might be on a tight budget, but looking for a great charcoal grill, this product is practical in many aspects. For example, there’s a hooded lid that lets you easily cook hamburgers, hot dogs, vegetables, and more.
You’ll also find an aluminum ash catch tray that’s very easy to clean once you’re done cooking. The metal legs are well balanced, even when we tried to use them on the beach. What surprised us the most is that, unlike its direct competitors, you’ll find two wheels for better portability on this grill.
Finally, when it comes to controlling the heat, everything is manual. This means that you have to either increase or decrease the amount of charcoal to ensure that you have the ideal temperature for your food.

Additionally, the L410 Sportsman’s grill feels sturdy thanks to its cast-iron design. It’s one of the most charcoal-efficient grills in this review because we only had to refill charcoal a couple of times, even if we were cooking up some steaks for many people.
Plus, its pre-seasoned grill is good enough not to have to worry about your food sticking onto the grill itself, and the flavor of your food gets better in time. The entire grill is also very easy to clean, which means you won’t have to waste a lot of time washing after eating.
Last but definitely not least, the adjustable grill grate and easy-to-open door make this charcoal grill a cut above the rest. Depending on what you’re cooking, you can lift the grill a little higher to keep your food at your desired temperature. Plus, the draft door gives you easy access to add or reduce charcoal whenever you need to.
What we didn’t like about the Lodge L410 Pre-Seasoned Sportsman’s Charcoal Grill however is that its handles are small, which makes it quite hard to carry. Additionally, for its small size, it’s a lot heavier than its competitors, and the cast-iron gets really hot, so you have to be careful when handling it.

What we like about the Takibi Fire and Grill is that it’s so easy to set up. For the first time in a long time, we didn’t have to look for the instruction manual or a YouTube video that explains how to assemble this grill. You’ll only find five pieces, which include a baseplate stand, grill bridge, grill net, Pack & Carry Fireplace L, and a carrying case.
For better cooking with charcoal, you can also purchase the Fireplace Coal Bed separately. We tried this product too, and with it, cooking becomes faster and more efficient.
Although the first thought you’ll have when assembling this Fire and Grill is that it looks too expensive and so shiny that you wouldn’t want to ruin it by starting a fire, we noticed that it doesn’t degrade, and ages the metal more beautifully with use.
The baseplate stand is sturdy enough for you to put multiple planks of wood and coals inside the fireplace. We were able to cook barbeque, s’mores, and vegetable skewers easily. Plus, with the coal bed, we were able to adjust the height of our food to ensure that we have the right temperature.
We love the fact that even strong winds don’t blow off the fire. Also, the added carrying case feels exceptional since the stand can be folded, and can easily be tucked in, making it compact and portable.
What we didn’t like about the Snow Peak Takibi Fire and Grill however is that it’s more expensive than the other products in this review. Plus, you would need to spend a couple more bucks for the Fireplace Coal Bed (which is worth it for the price). The items are also pretty heavy, and can be slightly tricky to carry around because the carrying case has two velcro straps, and one of them is shorter than the other.

In terms of grilling performance, you shouldn’t expect a lot from this tailgate grill, because it only has 5,500 BTU, which is actually understandable considering its size and price tag. This is not a big deal since most of its direct competitors are within the same BTU range as well.
Other features that we like about the Cuisinart CGG-180T is its foldable side tables, where you can put your belongings, sauces, tools, etc. There’s also a twist electric ignition for easy start-up, which would eliminate the need to bring stick lighters and matches. You’ll also find a spill-resistant drip tray to catch all the oil from what you’re cooking.

The telescoping and folding legs, which are patented in the U.S., will allow you to adjust the height of this grill freely. You can either go for a long stand with its sturdy base, or let it sit flat on top of your tailgate.
Setting up can be a little difficult with a tailgate griller because of its separate parts. We did, however, tried setting it up in our backyard before going on our trip, which made it a lot easier once we were out in the woods. Without the first couple of tries setting it up, it would have taken us almost an hour and a half, but by constantly doing it, we became a lot faster.
What we didn’t like about the Blackstone Grills Tailgater Portable Gas Grill and Griddle Combo is that the grease management can be a little flimsy. This means that any drippings from your food or marinade can slip off to the bast of your burner, and be sticky.

Durability-wise, you don’t have to worry about any easy wear and tear on this electric grill, because Weber is known as one of the best manufacturers that creates durable products. The body of this grill is made from heavy cast aluminum and added with a glass-reinforced nylon frame.
We didn’t see any downsides to the Weber Q2400 Portable Electric Grill. Although, we found some features that could use a little upgrade for this grill to be a cut ahead of the rest. What we like about the George Foreman Electric Grill is that it provides good grill marks when cooking your food. Not only that, but it has a dial-in feature that lets you know if the grill is turned on, or if it has reached your desired temperature. You’ll see that the setting comes from the “off” switch, and counts 1-5 for the heat.
Setting up this electric grill is very easy. It took us almost 10 minutes on our first try, but we actually did it a lot faster as we kept trying. To start cooking, all you have to do is plug the grill in, turn the switch on, and start pre-heating the grill.
Since it has a distinctive design, you can safely use it both inside and outside your house. Although, you would need to ensure that there’s an electrical outlet on your campsite to ensure that you can use this grill. Additionally, you’ll find a fat-removing slope that’s a trademark of George Foreman’s grills.
What we didn’t like about the George Foreman 15-Serving Electric Grill is that, when you’re cooking greasy food, you’ll find the heat control panel spattered with grease. Although, you can’t really expect a clean environment when you’re cooking. It’s also a little tough to remove the grill from the base, so you might need a helping hand, or a good strength to do it.

What we like about the Fold N Go Propane Grill is that it’s so easy to use. There’s no set up needed because it comes assembled. All you have to do is plug in the propane, and push the InstaStart button, and you’re all set! You don’t need any stick lighter or match.
Additionally, this grill is equipped with 6,000 BTU cooking power, allowing you to cook steaks, barbeques, chickens, and so much more with ease. They also added a PerfectFlow Technology that makes the heat steady enough to provide consistent cooking performance.
You also have the ability to control the temperature with the adjustable burner. Also, cleaning is a breeze, because the surface of the grill is removable and dishwasher-safe. There’s also a removable grease management tray that collects all the grease. Fortunately enough, this part of the grill is also dishwasher-safe.
What we didn’t like about the Fold N Go Propane Grill is that, through continuous use and cleaning, you might see the stamped steel that is used for the grill grate starting to flake off. What we like about the Bitty Big Q is that it’s simple enough that almost anyone can use it. It has three adjustable levels to make sure that what you’re cooking has the right temperature. It’s also very easy to clean. Since it’s made with stainless steel, it’s safe to put this in the dishwasher, and let the machine do the work for you.
While this is the most affordable and portable grill in this review, since it doesn’t have a burner of its own, the downside of this grill is that you would need to build a campfire first before you can actually cook with it. Plus, you would need a stand where you can put this retractable grill on top of for stability.
