Best Camping Tables In 2022

Camping Tables

Hiking is our favorite hobby, and one of the many things that we love to do during our camping activities is eat at a decent table with our family and friends. With years of experience in the wilderness, we know how it feels like when you’re eating with a plate on your lap, or preparing for your meal using a huge stone. This is why we deem it vital to have a table for any adventure.

Camping tables are made to ensure that you have a comfortable experience while you’re out in the woods. Whether you’re preparing for your meal, setting up a dining table, or talking to your friends around a couple of beers, having a table can make all of these activities easier for you and your group.

In order to recommend you the best camping tables available, we’ve tested multiple tables, side-by-side and individually, to compare their features. To make this article, we measured the capabilities of the products by the material that was used, their weight, portability, durability, and stability.

1. Coleman Pack-Away 4-in-1 Adjustable Height Folding Table

Coleman Pack-Away 4-in-1 Adjustable Height Folding Table

Unfolded Dimensions: 31” x 31.4” x 27.6”

Folded Dimensions: 31.5” x 16” x 3”

Weight: 13.8lbs

Claimed Max Weight Support: 300lbs

Table Top Material: Stylish Mosaic Laminated Top

We elected the Coleman Pack-Away 4-in-1 Adjustable Height Folding Table as the best overall camping table because of its versatility, sturdiness, portability, and affordability. If you’re looking for a table that you can use on almost every occasion (except for cooking on top of it), then this should be your go-to board.

What we like about the Pack-Away 4-in-1 table is its incredible versatility. Like the name implies, you can use it in 4 different ways — as a square table, bi-level table, buffet table, and as two separate tables.

Also, you can choose the tables height, as you can configure them at three different heights, namely 31.5”, 27.5”, or 14.5”. By using the brackets on each leg of the table, you can easily adjust the leg height to accommodate any activity that you’re partaking.

The top part is made from mosaic laminated, which means that you shouldn’t expose it to extreme heat; in other words, you shouldn’t cook on top of it. Also, you should make sure not to expose it to the rain for a long time.

During the stability test, we found out that the frames on each corner of the structure make the table stronger and more stable. When it comes to portability, the Pack-Away 4-in-1 comes with only one suitcase with a handle. You can also fold and carry the tables independently, but you’ll end up only having one table with a handle.

Lastly, you’ll find fine-tuning leveling foot, which allows you to adjust each leg accordingly. This is especially helpful if you’re on uneven ground.

What we didn’t like about the Coleman Pack-Away 4-in-1 Adjustable Height Folding Table is that it’s fairly heavy, compared to its direct competition. With a 13.8 lbs. total weight, the only way for you to bring this table on your campsite is to use a car.

Choosing the right camping equipment is very important if you want to get your money’s worth. Picking a camping table may seem like an easy task but there are things that you need to consider to make sure that the table that you’ll be getting is a good match for you. 2. REDCAMP Folding Table Adjustable Height for Camping

REDCAMP Folding Table Adjustable Height for Camping

Unfolded Dimensions: 48” x 24” x 22”

Folded Dimensions: 24” x 24” x 3”

Weight: 17lbs.

Claimed Max Weight Support: 70lbs.

Table Top Material: Medium Density Fiberboard

The REDCAMP Folding Table with Adjustable Height is considered by many as one of the most sought out folding camping tables on the market today. You can easily fold it, and it has a locking feature when you extend its legs.

What we like about the REDCAMP Folding Table is that it comes in different sizes. Plus, it is portable, and the legs can be adjusted. First and foremost, we would like to commend how REDCAMP was able to make this table portable.

Weighing just around 17 lbs., and being at least 3 inches wide when folded, you can easily put this table in the back of your car or trailer, or place it in a narrow space within your campsite when it’s not being used. Additionally, when folded, the design has a carry handle, which allows you to carry it around.

Once you open the case, you’ll instantly see the folded legs. There are two main legs that you can adjust, and anti-slip feet with fine-tuning capabilities, which enable you to place your table on uneven ground without worrying about its stability.

When you extend the legs, you’ll hear a “click,” which means that the legs are already locked in place. There’s also a pop-up button that you can push when you’re trying to refold it. You’ll find the locks on the tabletop corners, and a latch for additional security.

The hardtop material is made from medium-density fiberboard, making it durable compared to wooden tops. Additionally, the metal elements, including the frame of the tabletop, are made with aluminum alloy.

Lastly, there are four hooks on the side of the table, where you can hang small items that you carry around with you.

We didn’t find any downside to the REDCAMP Folding Table. Although, just make sure that all the legs are locked into place before putting some heavy things on top of the table, to ensure that nothing falls off.

3. Lifetime Height Adjustable Craft Camping and Utility Folding Table, 4-ft

Lifetime Height Adjustable Craft Camping and Utility Folding Table, 4-ft

Unfolded Dimensions: 48” x 24” x 24”, 29”, 36”

Folded Dimensions: 24” x 12” x 3”

Weight: 19lbs.

Claimed Max Weight Support: 150lbs in the center and 800lbs when evenly distributed

Table Top Material: High-Density Polyethylene Plastic

The Lifetime Height Adjustable Folding Table is one of many fans’ favorite folding camping tables, because it’s portable, easy to transport and store nearly anywhere, and its height is adjustable. With its affordable price and minimalist design, you’ll surely love bringing this table in almost all your adventures.

What we like about the Lifetime Height Adjustable Folding Table is that it can be folded into half, which makes it portable and easy to transport. Once it’s closed, there’s a carry handle on one side, allowing you to carry it around.

During the tests, we found it quite challenging to assemble the entire table. Thus, we suggest that you practice assembling it before going on your trip, to ensure that you don’t have a hard time when you need it the most.

The thing we like the most about this camping table is the rust-resistant, powder-coated steel frame, which ensures that the legs will last many years. The stain-resistant and UV-protected, high-density polyethylene top makes it easy for anyone to clean the table once you’re done using it.

With this table, you can also adjust the height of the legs, between 24”, 29”, and 36”. This makes this table versatile enough to use both indoors and outdoors. Whether you’re working at your garage and needing a table to set all your tools, or you’re out camping, this table can assist you in everything that you need.

What we didn’t like about the Lifetime Height Adjustable Folding Table however is that it’s a bit unstable and wobbly when set at 36”. Also, like mentioned earlier, it can be challenging to assemble and disassemble this table, so a couple of tries won’t hurt.

4. Trekology Portable Camping Side Tables with Aluminum Table Top

Trekology Portable Camping Side Tables with Aluminum Table Top

Unfolded Dimensions: 15.6” x 13.6” x 15”

Folded Dimensions: 23” x 4” x 4”

Weight: 2.7lbs.

Claimed Max Weight Support: 50lbs.

Table Top Material: Aluminum

If you’re looking for a camping table that’s small, portable, affordable, lightweight, and can handle the heat so that you can cook on top of it, then you should check out the Trekology Portable Camping Side Tables with Aluminum Table Top.

What we like about the Trekology Portable Camping Table is that it comes with a colorful aluminum tabletop. That’s not very common with this type of products. The aqua blue color makes it unique compared to its competitors, and allows you to see it clearly, even from far away.

One of the strong features of this camping table is that it’s very easy to assemble. During the tests, we were able to assemble this table in a mere 53 seconds. Out of curiosity, one of the campers who used this table was able to assemble the entire thing with only one hand (which says a lot about how easy it is).

The corners of the table can handle more or less 40 lbs., and even more when fully balanced on the middle part. Although, we recommend full caution when putting heavy and hot things on top of this table because it can be quite unstable, which means it would be fairly easy for it to tip over.

Contrary to tables that focus on being lightweight, this one is quite heavy. But, thanks to its removable top and foldable legs, we still consider this as a great portable table because you can fold the tabletop using the bungee strap.

What we didn’t like about the Trekology Portable Camping Side Tables with Aluminum Table Top is that the legs are not stable enough for you to put heavy things on top of it. Indeed, the cross braces of the legs tend to slip out of place, which can compromise the stability of the entire product.

Although the aluminum top seems durable, we have some concerns about some accidents that may occur when using this table. In some instances, while we were using the table, we had some close encounters with kicking the table, sitting on it, being blown by strong winds, or just being stepped on.

Best kids folding chair and table

5. Flash Furniture Kids Colorful 3-Piece Folding Table and Chair Set

Flash Furniture Kids Colorful 3-Piece Folding Table and Chair Set

Unfolded Dimensions: 24” x 24” x 20.25” table and 12.5” x 13.5” x 21.25” chairs

Folded Dimensions: 24” x 24” table and 13” x 1.25” x 21.25” chairs

Weight: 14lbs.

Claimed Max Weight Support: 70lbs.

Table Top Material: .1875” Thick Blue Vinyl Padded Top

We elected the Flash Furniture Kids 3-Piece Set as the best kids folding chair and table because it has everything you need for your kids’ camping adventure. It has a sturdy table and two strong chairs that can handle almost any kids’ weight.

What we like about the Flash Furniture Kids 3-Piece Set is that it can be used both inside your house, or on your camping adventures. You can easily set it up by unfolding the legs of the table and chairs.

Once all the legs are fully extended, you’ll hear a “click,” which indicates that it’s already locked into place. At first, we were skeptical about how sturdy the chairs would be. But then, when it was time to refold it and return it to the car, we had to use a screwdriver to unlock the locking mechanism. This ensured us that some kid campers are safe because we didn’t have to worry about the chairs collapsing under their weight.

What we didn’t like about the Flash Furniture Kids 3-Piece Set is that the tabletop is too soft to do any artwork on the table. At first, we thought that the vinyl top would make the material hard enough for kids to use as an activity space, but as soon as we opened it up, we were surprised that even a pencil can pierce through it.

Also, even though it’s advertised as “easy to clean,” we find the vinyl easy to stain, and it’s almost impossible to remove any dirt on it. A solution that we came up with is to put plastic placemats on top of it, or a cutting board, even if you need something harder.

6. Baby Delight Go with Me Chair

Baby Delight Go with Me Chair

Unfolded Dimensions: 24.5” x 23” x 22.75”

Folded Dimensions: 8” x 8” x 25”

Weight: 4.9lbs.

Claimed Max Weight Support: 75lbs.

Table Top Material: Removable Snack Tray

The Baby Delight Go with Me Chair is a favorite of many parent campers who like to bring their child on their camping trips. Whether your kid is about 3-6 months old, or is already a toddler, this chair can grow alongside your kid.

What we like about the Baby Deligh Go with Me Chair is that it can be used in many different settings and many ways. Here are some examples:

If your kid is 3-6 months old, they can sit and relax on this chair thanks to its 5-point harness, which keeps the baby safe. There’s a reclining option for better relaxation, and side cushions to help stabilize the head and body.

If your kid is 6-12 months old, they can use it as a pre-walker or a baby stand, because the stretch legs have enclosures that can protect your kids’ legs from bugs. Also, there’s a detachable snack tray and canopy for your kids’ meals, and to protect them from the sun.

Once they become toddlers up to 75lbs., you can use this chair for any sit and play activity, which is very useful for any camping trips. During the tests, we find that this chair is very durable and can withstand years of use.

What we didn’t like about the Baby Delight Go with Me Chair is that the removable snack tray and canopy cover are not sturdy at all. After just a few attachments and detachments, they became a bit flimsy, so we decided not to use them when not needed.

Although, when camping out, we find the tray extremely useful, especially if you have a kid that’s a bit tough to feed when seated at a dinner table. With the harnesses, you can be sure that your kid is safe, even if they try to move around the chair.

7. KidKraft Outdoor Table with Benches and Umbrella

KidKraft Outdoor Table with Benches and Umbrella

Unfolded Dimensions: 42.25” 22.75” x 19” bench and 35.8” x 11.6” x 12.88” bench

Folded Dimensions: N/A

Weight: 44lbs.

Claimed Max Weight Support: N/A

Table Top Material: Wood

If you’re looking for a complete set for your kids during camping season, then you should definitely check out the KidKraft Outdoor Table with Benches and Umbrella. With this set, all the children on your campsite will have their own complete dinner table, with benches and an umbrella to protect them from the sun or light rain showers.

What we like about the KidKraft Outdoor Table set is that it’s made specifically for kids and the outdoors. Whether you put it outside your patio, or bring it with you in your RV or at your vacation house, your kids will surely enjoy their own table.

Throughout many tests, one of the campers we asked was able to assemble the entire thing in an hour and 45 minutes. This could go a lot faster if you have a partner to help you assemble the set.

Additionally, many kid campers enjoy the comfy cushions that were provided in the seat, allowing them to seat for long hours while playing, doing some artistic activities, and eating their snacks or meals. The umbrella also gives a nice touch to the entire set, as it gives a comfy feeling, even when you’re outside.

What we didn’t like about the KidKraft Outdoor Table with Benches and Umbrella is that it’s very heavy, which means that you would need a lot of space and extra weight if you want to bring the entire set with you. That is the reason why we recommend that you only use this set if you’re going to put it on your patio, or if you have a vacation home where this can be settled in permanently.

Best camping tables with a sink

8. Lifetime 280560 4-Foot Folding Camping Table with Sink

Lifetime 280560 4-Foot Folding Camping Table with Sink

Unfolded Dimensions: 49.1” x 24.1” x 22.5” – 36.5”

Folded Dimensions: 25” x 24.1” x 4.1”

Weight: 21.8lbs.

Claimed Max Weight Support: N/A

Table Top Material: UV-Protected High-Density Polyethylene Top

We chose the Lifetime 280560 4-Foot Folding camping table as the best camping table with a sink. With its durable legs, washbasin with an integrated plug and drain, and other useful features at an affordable price, you’ll never be able to leave for another camping trip without bringing this along with you.

What we like about the Lifetime 4-Foot Folding Camping Table is that you’ll only need to bring a water hose to complete the setup. Everything you need to make the table stand is already found inside.

For instance, you’ll find a steel frame with an all-weather finish to ensure that it can withstand any weather condition; a spray nozzle with flow control capabilities to help you prepare your meal or clean the dishes, and a washbasin with an integrated drain and plug.

But what we like the most about this table is the integrated channel for water drainage, which you’ll not commonly find in camping tables with sinks. This helps keep your area clear of mud, and reduces the need for you to look for a location that can easily put out water.

Once you’re done setting up the table, all you need to do is attach a water hose from a water source to the spray nozzle, and you’re all set. We love how the tabletop is stain-resistant and very easy to clean. By simply wiping it off with a clean damp towel cloth, you’ll feel like it’s like a brand new table.

The only thing that we didn’t like about the Lifetime 4-Foot Folding Camping Table with Sink is that the spray nozzle is not durable at all. We had some concerns while bending it to clean out things, so you should make sure to take extra precautions.

9. GCI Outdoor Master Cook Portable Folding Camp Kitchen

GCI Outdoor Master Cook Portable Folding Camp Kitchen

Unfolded Dimensions: 56.3” x 32.3” x 21.7”

Folded Dimensions: 34.8” x 21.7” x 5.9”

Weight: 22.7lbs.

Claimed Max Weight Support: 48lbs for the Aluminum Counter Tops, 30lbs for the side tables, and 35lbs for the storage rack

Table Top Material: Aluminum Counter Top

If you’re looking for a camping table with a sink, storage, and more, then the GCI Outdoor Master Cook Portable Camp Kitchen should be at the top of your list. Although it’s heavy and bulky, you’ll find that all the features are extremely useful, and that the table itself is very efficient.

What we like about the GCI Outdoor Master Cook Station is that all its features are found inside the folding table. Thanks to its Slim-Fold Technology, the entire frame is folded flat, making it portable and easy to store in your trunk. Also, it comes with a carry handle, which enables you to carry it around your campsite.

Compared to other camping tables that are not able to handle any heat, this one has an aluminum tabletop that is heat-resistant, allowing you to cook on top of it, either on a portable stove or on a griller.

In addition to this feature, this table has a built-in sink that is not removable. It’s made with a soft material, and is already equipped with a drain of its own. Once you unfold the table, the sink opens up. However, if you’re not going to use it, there’s a tabletop cover that gives you more space to prepare for your meal.

What gives the GCI table an edge over its competitors is that it provides a lot of storage space. You’ll find a large storage rack at the bottom of the tabletop, which can carry up to 35 lbs. Also, there are three fold-out side tables with glass holders to offer you more space to put your cooking utensils.

What we didn’t like about the GCI Outdoor Master Cook Portable Camp Kitchen with Sink is that it’s very heavy and bulky, even when packed. Although, we understand that the manufacturer’s priorities are not the weight and space management, but rather to provide you with enough space to put all your belongings for a camping trip.

10. Camp Chef Sherpa Camp Table and Organizer

Camp Chef Sherpa Camp Table and Organizer

Unfolded Dimensions: 27” 17” x 28”

Folded Dimensions: 15.75”  x 27” x 18.25”

Weight: 10.2lbs.

Claimed Max Weight Support: 66lbs.

Table Top Material: Aluminum

The Camp Chef Sherpa Camp Table and Organizer is a top pick for many family campers due to its capacity to hold many items, and still make it look as organized as possible. With four color-coded organizational fabric cubes, there’s no doubt that you’ll be able to get everything that you need in under a minute with this table.

What we like about the Sherpa Camp Table is that it has a ready-to-use design. Thus, all you have to do is put all your belongings in, carry the entire case to your trunk, and you’re good to go. The initial setup typically takes 30 minutes for anyone to do it, but after this, the only thing you’ll need to do is pull the legs for the table to reach its full height.

You can put the four fabric cubes inside the crate, and you’ll also find an aluminum tabletop that can handle heat easily, which means that you can easily cook on top of it. Because of its small height and sturdy legs, the table itself is very durable, and provides great stability.

Aside from these assets, you’ll find that this table provides a great organizational feature, making it great for campers who likes to put a tag on all their belongings. Even though it looks heavy and bulky, it’s surprisingly lightweight, with only 10.2 lbs.

What we didn’t like about the Camp Chef Sherpa Camp Table and Organizer however is that it’s extremely bulky. Once you’ve done the initial set-up, you won’t be able to collapse it back, which means you’ll have to travel with it in its crate-like design.

Also, it sits too low compared to other camping tables, so you would need to bend down to cook on top of it, or to get some things out of the fabric cubes.

11. CampLand Outdoor Folding Table with Adjustable Height and Storage

CampLand Outdoor Folding Table with Adjustable Height and Storage

Unfolded Dimensions: 47.24” x 18.5” x 27.36”

Folded Dimensions: 23.62” x 18.5” x 3.96”

Weight: 16lbs.

Claimed Max Weight Support: 66lbs.

Table Top Material: MDF Tabletop with Aluminum Frame

Considered by many campers as one of the most versatile camping tables is the CampLand Outdoor Folding Table with Adjustable Height and Storage. Once fully stretched, you’ll find two separate storage areas at the bottom of the tabletop. But if you choose to use it as a dining table, make sure to remove the items inside the storage area first.

What we like about the CampLand Outdoor Folding Table is that you can do a few good things with this table. For one, setting it up is fairly easy. All you have to do is open the table, extend the legs, and lock the latches.

Plus, the storage area at the bottom of the table top is very useful, and can hold multiple and heavy items. You can also cook on the tabletop while getting your things in and out of the storage space.

But once you choose to use it as a dining table, you will have to remove all the storage materials, so that you can pull a chair and sit properly. What gives this table an edge is that you can adjust the height on the pair of legs accordingly. This becomes extremely helpful, especially if you’re on uneven ground.

What we didn’t like about the CampLand Outdoor Folding Table with Adjustable Height and Storage, on the other hand, is that it’s a bit heavy considering that it only comes with the table, legs, and 600D oxford polyester. Additionally, the tabletop itself is not water-resistant, so you should be careful not to keep it outside while it’s raining.

Best lightweight camping table

12. Portal Outdoor Folding Portable Camping Table

Portal Outdoor Folding Portable Camping Table

Unfolded Dimensions: 47.2” x 27.6” x 28.3”

Folded Dimensions: 6.7” x 5.9” x 48”

Weight: 12.1lbs.

Claimed Max Weight Support: 66lbs.

Table Top Material: Aluminum Panels

The Portal Outdoor Folding Portable Camping Table is considered by many campers as one of the best lightweight camping tables on the market today because not only is it light, but it’s also sturdy, has adjustable legs and a mesh “shelf” underneath the tabletop, and it’s fairly easy to clean.

What we like about the Portal Outdoor Folding Portable Camping Table is that it’s simple and easy to use. It comes with a storage back, from where you can pull out all the parts of the table. Once the items are out, you’ll need to extend the legs and make sure to lock the collapsible joint on the cross-bar support.

You’ll find an adjustable height lock that will ensure that you have the right height for you, and an anti-slip feet pads to ensure that you won’t encounter any accidents while it’s already standing.

There also are four hooks under the tabletop, which you can attach to the mesh layer. This comes extremely handy, especially when you’re out playing cards with your fellow campers and need some extra space for your belongings. The tabletop is made with aluminum roll-top, making it collapsible and easy to pack when you’re all done.

Durability-wise, we are confident that this table can withstand a couple of year-round trips, but make sure that you take extra precautions when putting some things on top of it, as it can become a little unstable once there are heavy objects on it.

What we didn’t like about the Portal Outdoor Folding Portable Camping Table is that it can be challenging to put the items back in its bag. Because of the internal fabric separator (for the legs and tabletop), the fabric can get in the way when you’re trying to stuff everything back in.

13. Helinox Table One

Helinox Table One

Unfolded Dimensions: 24” x 16” x 14”

Folded Dimensions: 16” x 3.5” x 3”

Weight: 1.5lbs.

Claimed Max Weight Support: 110lbs.

Table Top Material: Polyester

Considered by many campers as the best lightweight camping tables because of its sheer weight, pre-attached moving parts, ability to handle more than 50x its weight, and extreme portability, the Helinox Table One is a force to be reckoned with in the ultralightweight category.

What we like about the Helinox Table One is that it only weighs 1.5 lbs, and comes with a carrying case with loops and handles, allowing you to clip it anywhere on your backpack. Out of all the tables that we reviewed in this article, this product is the smallest one, and the most portable.

When it comes to assembling this table, you don’t have to worry about mixing all the materials, because all the parts come in pre-attached bungee lines. Although it may seem a little confusing at first, after a couple of tries, and with the help of the instruction manual, we were able to assemble it in less than a minute.

Out of all the features of this table, what caught us by surprise the most is how stable the table is, even if you put in much heavier items in one of the corners. Thanks to its polyester top material, it has the ability to stretch and bend, providing a give and take scenario to balance out the table.

Like we’ve mentioned earlier, this table can handle more than 50x its body weight. Helinox actually says it can handle up to 110 lbs., which we eventually tested, and were able to confirm. In addition, the durability of this product is outstanding because we didn’t see any signs of wear and tear, even after days of using it.

What we didn’t like about the Helinox Table One is that the fabric can melt, which means that you don’t get to use it to cook your camp meals. Also, even though it can handle a lot of weight, it can easily be toppled down by winds, a slight kick, or a just a jump. Lastly, it comes with a very hefty price tag, but if you’re focusing on reducing the total weight that you’re carrying, then it’s worth every dollar.

Folded Dimensions: 17.7” x 5.5” x 2.7”

Claimed Max Weight Support: 44lbs.

Table Top Material: Aluminum

The last item on our list for the best lightweight camping tables is the KingCamp Ultralight Compact Sturdy Aluminum Folding Table. It has a simple, minimalist design, and nearly anyone can assemble it in no time. Plus, it comes at a much more affordable price than the previous Helinox product.

What we like about the KingCamp Ultralight Folding Table is that it also comes in a small and compact packaging. Plus, you won’t need any tools to assemble this table, since all you need to do is stretch out the legs, attach the tabletop, and you’re all set.

What gives this table an edge to its competitors is that the top is scratch- and water-resistant, which allows you to set it almost anywhere on your campsite. Whether you use it as a side table to put your lamp, mobile phones, water bottles, or a book on, you’ll surely find this table extremely useful.

Another advantage that is worth taking note of is that KingCamp has provided this product with a lifetime warranty. Therefore, all the replacements and repairs for the parts are covered by the manufacturer, which makes us believe that this table is extremely durable and reliable.

The only thing that we didn’t like about the KingCamp Ultralight Compact Sturdy Aluminum Folding Table is that it’s small. Thus, you won’t be able to use it as a dining table, except if you’re traveling solo and sitting on the floor.

What to look for in a camping table

Choosing a camping table can be a daunting task for some people. You would need to determine what activities will you be using it for, how many people can simultaneously use it, what you will put on top of it, etc. In this section, we will give you a breakdown of all the things that you should look out for in a camping table.

1. Intended use

Camping tables can offer different features depending on their intended use. It can be a wide table to prepare your food and eat your meals. It can also be a table with washbasins to ease your worry of cleaning up the plates, and as a focal point for you and your family to play some games.

2. Material

The frame and tabletop can vary in terms of materials. You should take a good look at the materials first, to ensure that it can handle the weather at your campsite, your intended use of it, and whether or not it can handle some wear and tear. These materials can either be:

  • Plastic, or PVC
  • Metal
  • Wood
  • Wicker, or rattan tables

3. Size and shape

Once you’ve broken down the intended use of your future camping table, it’s a lot easier to determine the size and shape that you will need. Of course, to do this, you will need to know how many people will be able to use it at the same time. Here are some examples to look into:

  • Bistro tables – designed to accommodate 2-4 people
  • Dining tables – designed to be versatile, either to prepare food, serve as a buffet-style, or play games
  • Extendable tables – designed to have the ability to extend a part of the table to accommodate a larger group of people

4. Stability and durability

The stability and durability of the camping table can be easily determined based on the material that is used. But it’s worth noting that the overall design of the table provides a clear picture of how stable it can be. When looking for a table, make sure to check out the reviews, and see if it can handle a lot of weight on either of its side.

5. Weight and portability

Of course, planning for your camping trip wouldn’t be complete if you didn’t think about the weight that you’re going to carry. When choosing a camping table, make sure that you consider the weight that’s going to be added. Smaller tables are lighter, while larger ones are heavier, so you would need a car to bring the latter along with you.

Also, the packed sizes can differ from table to table, so make sure that you have an extra space for you to put your table. Whether you’re solo backpacking or car camping, an allotted space can make a huge difference when organizing your items.

6. Extra features

Camping tables also differ in their available features. For instance, some tables were only designed to put small items on top of them, but more sophisticated tables have storages underneath the tabletop, as well as side tables for extra space, washbasins for easy clean-up, and extended poles for you to hang your lanterns.

Final Thoughts

More often than not, camping tables are not something that you have to worry about since most frontcountry campsites are equipped with numerous tables for campers to enjoy. But, if you’re planning to set up camp somewhere with less amenities, a camping table is a handy equipment that you should definitely include in your camping gear ensemble.

With hundreds, even thousands of camping tables on the market today, it can be difficult to choose which one best fits your camping needs. So, make sure to check out the points that we’ve listed in the “what to look for in a camping table” section before deciding on which table to purchase.
